Chris Buck Band | Artist of the Month
From humble beginnings playing in bars to taking the stage at some of the biggest festivals in Canada, Chris Buck has built a reputation for his unapologetic, raw country sound.
Chris graduated from New Westminster Secondary School, and fun fact: if you ever visit Queens Park Arena, take a look inside the trophy case at the front entrance. You’ll spot his name on the New Westminster Minor Hockey championship banner right alongside Major League Baseball superstar Justin Morneau. One of Chris’s very first jobs was as a dishwasher at Earl’s on Lougheed in Burnaby, and he started out playing his first weekend gigs at Roosters and Gabby’s Country Cabaret.
A force to be reckoned with on stage, Chris has headlined some of Canada’s biggest festivals, including Boots & Hearts, Rockin’ River Music Fest, The Calgary Stampede, Manitoulin Countryfest, and Big Valley Jamboree. He’s also carved out his own space in the industry by launching Boots N Boats singer-songwriter festival in Lake Country, BC.
Now based in Nashville, Chris is reconnecting with the music that first inspired him. He’s recording a hard-hitting, ’90s-inspired album that channels the grit and edge of icons like Brooks & Dunn and Zach Top. With a renewed sense of purpose and a sound that remains true to his roots, Chris Buck is ready to embark on his most exciting chapter yet!
