Dolly Parton To Release Family Album & Docuseries
Dolly Parton is giving fans an inside look at her family.
The country music legend revealed she will be releasing an album with her family titled “Dolly Parton & Family: Smoky Mountain DNA – Family, Faith & Fables” on November 15th. Fans can pre-order the project on June 21st. It will be available on streaming services, vinyl and CD’s.
The projects will highlight both sides of Dolly’s family from the past and present. Family members voices that have passed on will also be included in the upcoming album.
In addition to the album Dolly is in production for a docuseries about her family life parallel to the album.
“I cannot believe that it has been 60 years this month since I graduated from Sevier County High School and moved to Nashville to pursue my dreams, my Uncle Bill Owens was by my side for many years, helping me develop my music. I owe so much to him and all the family members, past and present, who have inspired me along this journey. I am honored to spotlight our families’ musical legacy that is my Smoky Mountain DNA.” Dolly said about her upcoming projects highlighting her family.
The Docuseries will talk about her family’s move from UK to East Tennessee with interviews with her family members. There is no word on the release date for the docuseries but it’s fair to predict it will come soon after the upcoming album in November.
