Dierks Bentley … the producer??
Dierks Bentley is moving into the world of TV production. He and his manager, Mary Hilliard Harrington, have been named executive producers on a comedy show on Fox. Variety reports the show, which is set in a Nashville bar, will center around the singer-songwriters who frequent a Nashville bar, mingling their professional ambitions with their romantic lives. There’s no name for it YET, but Fox has committed to filming a pilot.
That was our reaction as well … like whaaaaat? OK cool!!
The series comes from writer and producer Jack Burditt, the creator and original showrunner of Last Man Standing. His other recent credits include Modern Family, Great News, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and The Mindy Project.
Fun fact: Dierks knows a little bit about the topic of Nashville bars since he opened his very own bar called ‘Dierks Whiskey Row’ in Nashville back in January. This is his fourth location to date while bringing fans a restaurant, bar, and a sense of nightlife.
Next month catch Dierks at the CMA Awards where he’s nominated for album of the Year for The Mountain, as well as Male Vocalist and Musical Event of the Year for “Burning Man” with Brothers Osborne. The CMA Awards will be broadcast live from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena November 14th at 8 p.m. on ABC.
