Halloween is on Wednesday, October 31st! As there are every year, there are lots of fun events you can go to, but which ones are good for little kids? Here’s a fun list of cute but spooky Halloween events perfect for kids under 10:
Burnaby’s Haunted Village
Is at the Burnaby Village from October 26th to 29th, 6pm to 9pm. The village is transformed into a spooky town with friendly actors dressed up, stilt walkers and live entertainment. Kids can dress up and go trick-or-treating then ride the traditional carousel before heading home. Visit burnabyvillagemuseum.ca
Surrey’s Halloween Pumpkin Express
Is a child friendly miniature train ride at Bear Creek Park. It is on now till the 31st, running from 10am to 4:30. If you go in the evening (after 6:30pm), you’ll want to leave the little ones at home because it gets scary! More information at: bctrains.com/halloween
If you like train rides, there’s the Stanley Park Ghost Train!

They have matinee rides with no scary actors or live performances, just displays. Running from October 11th to 31st, this is a family event open to all ages. Other than the train, this event will also have a Haunted Maze/Little Monsters Maze, Crafts and movies, Exhibits by the Stanley Park Ecology Society and a pumpkin patch. VanDusen Glow in the Garden in Vancouver
Running from October 19th to the 31st, this event will showcase lit up carved pumpkins placed throughout the whimsical garden, with magical moments from the classic story of Hansel and Gretel. Follow the bread crumbs on a fun walk with zany lights, sounds and pumpkin characters! There’s also fun crafts and treats! More info at: vancouver.ca/parks-recreation-culture/glow-in-the-garden.aspx

Creepy Crawly Halloween
Is on October 27th at the Fraser River Discovery Centre in New West. Come in costume and take part in the games, crafts and trick or treating! Dig for bones, stay for the science shows at 11:30am and 2:30pm, participate in the scavenger hunt and make sure to get a photo in the photobooth before heading home. Spooktacular!
Is on October 28th at the Coquitlam Farmers Market. Join the market goers and vendors for some spooky fun! Go to the market in your costume and to take part in Halloween games, crafts and treats!
