Vancouver:
The Fair at the PNE starts August 18 till September 3rd.
- Heroes’ Opening Weekend: August 18 – 19: FREE gate admission for First Responders and a guest.
- Toonie Days: August 18 – 19, 11am – 1pm: Wear your favourite sports team gear or concert -t shirt you can get in for just $2!
- FREE Gate Admission for all guests: August 21 & 28, 11am – 1pm
- Wild Ride Wednesdays: August 22 & 29, 11am – 1pm: purchase 2 ride passes for the price of 1.
- Library Day: August 22, 11am – late: show any BC Library card and photo ID to receive $6 gate admission

River District’s Savour Summer Festival August 11th and August 25th from 4pm to 8pm
- August 11th: Paw Patrol is doing a free show at 4:30pm. There’ll be free face painting, balloon animals, food trucks, local art vendors and more.
- August 25th: Dr. Strangelove concert at 7pm, Romer’s Burger Bar will have FREE sliders and craft beer samples.

Teacher Appreciation Night at the Vancouver Aquarium, August 30th, 7pm – 10pm

Every Friday till August 24th from 5pm to 9pm. This is a free, fully licensed festival on Front Street with artisan vendors, live music, food trucks and craft beer. Details here.
Richmond:
The YVR Chill Out, August 18th, 11am to 3pm at Larry Berg Flight Path Park
Enjoy free admission, live music, food, face painting, magicians and photo booths! Enjoy a day at the park and watch air planes take off and land! Details here.
10th Annual Garlic Festival: August 19th, 10am – 3pm at Terra Nova Rural Park
Over 1,000 lbs of local garlic will be fore sale! Top chefs from local restaurants will be serving family friendly eats. There’s a kids area that will be entertaining for the little ones. More info here.
Tsawwassen:
Tsawwassen Sun Festival, August 3rd to 6th.
This is a three-day celebration of fun in the sun with FREE Admission to the general festival. But ticketed admission for the carnival/ kid zone. Stick around for a skateboarding competition, Slo-Pitch tournament, Delta’s Got Talent, a Classic Car Show and more! Details here.

Kids Bowl Free at Dell Lanes and Scottsdale Lanes
Did you know that kids can bowl for free at Dell Lanes and Scottsdale Lanes in Surrey? They have to sign up at Kidsbowlfree.com and a coupon will be sent to your email. There are also bowling alleys in Vancouver, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam that honour the Kids Bowl Free program as well.
The White Rock Sea Festival, August 4th and 5th, 10am till late
This FREE event includes children’s activities, Pirates in the Park, a Salmon BBQ, a sandcastle competition, fireworks, a torchlight parade and live entertainment. More details here.

Fresh Family Fun Field at Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery, August 19th, 9am to 5pm.

A Meteor Shower on Sunday, August 12th
The Perseids are one of the brighter meteor showers of the year. Bring your blankets and set up camp away from the city lights to catch this meteor shower that happens once a year. More details here.
