Grand Ole Opry to host memorial ceremony for Troy Gentry
A celebration of life for Montgomery Gentry‘s Troy Gentry will be held at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville on Thursday (September 14th) at 11 a.m. CT. The event is open to the public. A private family interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to T.J. Martell Foundation or The American Red Cross for hurricane relief.
For those unable to attend, a live stream of the service can be viewed at http://www.opry.com/troy-gentry.
Gentry died on Friday (September 8th) in a helicopter crash in Medford, N.J. at the age of 50. He is survived by his wife, Angie Gentry as well as his daughters, Taylor and Kaylee.
Jason Aldean found a way to pay his respects last week at this show in New Jersey, covering Montgomery Gentry’s “Lonely and Gone” and dedicating the performance to “T-Roy,” whom he credited as a mentor.
