Josh Ross’ New Song is About Megan Moroney?!
People love a good theory — and the latest one swirling around social media is all about Josh Ross and Megan Moroney.
Josh Ross recently dropped his new track, “My Side of Town” from his debut album Later Tonight, which comes out September 19th, and some fans are convinced it’s about Megan.
In an interview on Alex Cooper’s podcast, Call Her Daddy, Megan spilled the tea that her song “Sleep on My Side” is about a guy who was seeing her… but had a girlfriend the whole time.
@callherdaddy You always HATE to see a hey girly DM
And with that, came people speculating it was about a guy with a “J” name — because every chance she had in front of a mic, she would say: “you can’t trust a J name.”

Now, fans are connecting the dots to Josh.
In “My Side of Town,” the line that really sparked interest was:
“I never raised a hand, or ran around on you. So it was news to me when you and me turned into headline news.”
It could sound like a response to a breakup, but there’s one detail that might throw a wrench in the theory. In the Call Her Daddy interview, Megan mentioned that “this J man” was also a hockey player. Josh did play a sport, but it wasn’t hockey — it was football.
Honestly, it feels like a bit of a reach. But we get it, fans love a mystery, especially when it involves two rising country stars.
But if we’re going to go there, let’s really go there: What if “My Side of Town” isn’t about Megan at all? And while we’re at it, what if “Tennessee Orange” wasn’t actually about Morgan Wallen either?
Here’s the thing — maybe not every song is a secret diary entry about another artist? But hey, it does make for interesting theories.
