Kip Moore is going in a different direction and parting ways with MCA Records.
Moore announced the news in an Instagram post on Sunday (March 17th), looking back at his good memories while sending love to his former team, and teasing his independent album. The singer- songwriter leaves the Nashville based label after working together for over ten years releasing five studio albums.
“I’ve been extremely grateful for the opportunity to make records on a label like MCA over the last 10 plus years. They’ve been such a top notch team and I’ve been so lucky to have had the freedom through the years to do it my way,” Kip Moore writes on his departure from the label. Moore was signed to MCA eight years after moving to Nashville and released his first single “Mary Was the Marrying Kind” under the label. In addition to that the singer-songwriters first number 1 hit “Something ‘Bout A Truck” was also under MCA.
