Morgan Wallen Surpasses Garth Brooks Breaking a Billboard Record!

Morgan Wallen has officially surpassed Garth Brooksโ Billboard 200 record!
Brooks previously held the record for most weeks at number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts for a country album. This was achieved by Brooks with his album โRopin the Windโ for 18 nonconsecutive weeks back in 1991-1992. Morgan Wallen and his album โOne Thing At A Timeโ has now broken the record. As of this week the album returned to the number 1 spot and has officially held it for 19 nonconsecutive weeks.
In comparison Garth Brooksโ โRopin the Windโ also debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts back in 1991. At the time Brooks made history with this being the first album by a country artist to top both charts since Kenny Rodgers did it a decade earlier. Many songs off of โRopin the Windโ charted high. Rodeo, Shameless, What sheโs Doing Now, and The River, all peaked at number 1 on the charts. Before he was dethroned by Wallen, Garth Brooks held this record for over 30 years. We really havenโt seen a surge in country music like we are now with Morgan Wallen since Brooksโ Era in the early 90s.
Morgan Wallenโs โOne Thing At A Timeโ continues to hold the number 1 spot among all albums and has the potential to break an even bigger record. The Record for most weeks at number 1 on the Billboard 200 is currently held by Adeleโs Album โ21โณ, which held the top spot for 24 nonconsecutive weeks back in 2011-2012. Wallenโs โOne Thing at a Timeโ debuted at number 1 on the charts March 18th 2023, and held the top spot for itโs first 12 weeks. The album was also awarded Billboardโs top album of 2023.
Morgan Wallenโs newest project theโAbbey Road Sessionsโ could have something to do with him reclaiming the top spot on the Billboard 200 charts. The new live versions of songs fromโOne Thing at a Timeโ has given fans the incentive to go back and listen to the original recordings of Wallen and put him back on top of the charts.
