The current trend in Country music borrows a lot of rhythmic elements from r&b, but if you look closely you’ll find country has always embraced that genre.
Just released, it’s “Country Funk III”…the latest in an album series that highlights how country artists of yore were up to get down. Albums 1 & 2 featured tunes from the 60s and early 70s, this one is from 1972 to 1975 and features the sainted Dolly Parton getting her funk on with “Sure Thing”.
Elsewhere, your grandparent’s favourite Conway Twitty lends his growl to “Night Fires”
You can decide if you wanna put this album on repeat 😉
