Bejeweled is now part of the World Video Game Hall of Fame

Who would’ve thought that one of our favourite, and very addictive, cell phone games would make the World Video Game Hall of Fame for 2020?

Past inductees include Microsoft Solitaire, Super Mario Kart, Pac-Man, The Oregon Trail, Tetris, Pong, and Mortal Kombat.  The official inductees for 2020 are Bejeweled, Minecraft, Centipede, and King’s Quest.  They were chosen from a group of 12 finalists that included Frogger, Goldeneye 007, Guitar Hero, NBA Jam, Nokia Snake, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Uncharted 2, and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?

The list is put together by The Strong museum in Rochester, New York.  All types of games are recognized for their influence on the gaming industry and pop culture, whether you play them on your phone, computer, a console, at the arcade, or a handheld system.
