The song is an emotional, yet optimistic response to the global pandemic.
While Combs laments the things he’s not able to do because of physical distancing (“I miss my mom, I miss my dad I miss the road, I miss my band Giving hugs and shaking hands”), he also runs through all the things he’s looking forward to doing when this is all over – with a little touch of humour (“Catch a movie, catch a cab / Watch a ballgame from the stands / Probably over-wash my hands”).
The multi-platinum singer originally debuted an acoustic version of the song during a livestream performance on April 15th.
With touring on hold, Combs has been doing livestream concerts and will host another one tonight at 5pm PST.
He’ll be teaming up with Miller Lite for this performance in support of their #VirtualTipJar campaign for out-of-work bartenders across the United States. You can watch along on his Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages.
We’re highlighting this track on JR’s Weekly Top 10, so make sure you tune in to find out more! You can catch the countdown every weekend on Friday at 10pm, Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 12pm.
