How you can change the lights on the big orb at Science World
The Lower Mainland’s best remote control is back, baby.
The tech geeks at Tangible Interactive have teamed up with Science World to re-create an orb that’s straight out of fantasy fandom. The OH! light control orb on the Olympic Village seawall, which debuted last year, senses the movement of people’s hands and changes the lights on the dome in real time.
Pretty cool, right?
The orb is a scale model of the dome and is covered with LED lights and 240 sensors and can create six different animations with variations in colours and patterns, including sparkles, bands, and waves.
If you have kids or access to kids, there’s your excuse to make a point of trying this…but really, if you’re like me, you want to do this too 🙂
It’s happening during the first four Fridays in August, 2018 at 1 Athletes Way, Vancouver (on the seawall in Olympic Village).
