Is Maren Morris leaving Country Music?

The answer is NO!

Just because Maren Morris is soaring up the pop charts with “The Middle” with Zedd and Grey, that doesn’t mean she’s ready to leave Country music behind. In fact, when it comes to her next album, Maren says us she’s sticking to what she loves.

“I don’t want to stray too far from my roots in the sophomore album because I think a lot of artists get caught in that trap of being like, ‘Oh, I want to do something so unexpected that no one’s going to get it that fell in love with the first album,’ so I think like I’ll always be rooted in Country and like I’m from Texas. Those will be my roots and I think all the lyrics to my songs are Country structured.”

She told Taste of Country “I’m kind of getting out of my comfort zone on this next record but I’m still writing with a lot of the same friends of mine that were on the first. That kind of shapes the sound for me is just connecting the dots of all the songs.  So it’s a little bit of everything but still really rooted in a country where I’ll always be.”

In other Maren Morris news, earlier this week she shared this pic on Instagram writing,  “3 weeks.”  Sounds like she and fiance Ryan Hurd are tying the knot in less than a month!
