Love and hope are amazing: Couple injured at the Route 91 shooting get free wedding
Love can always find a way.
A couple who survived a nightmare, the Las Vegas mass shooting, will get their dream wedding for free.
An organization in California announced it will foot the entire bill.
For Jordanne Barr and Jordan Adamczyk, it was love at first sight.
“I always thought I would marry him, but when we started dating. I mean I told him I loved him, on our first date, we were just such great friends, that everything fell into place perfectly,” Barr said.
That perfect fairy tale feeling would be put to the test during their first weekend away in Las Vegas at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival when they found themselves in the middle of the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.
Barr was shot in the arm, and the bullet traveled through her arm and into her side.
Adamczyk dove on top of her, trying to shield her from the bullets raining from above.
“You can’t really put yourself in that situation and think, ‘Oh someone would take a bullet for me,’ until that actually happens,” said Barr.
“I just want to protect her,” said Adamczyk.
Now, after surviving that nightmare, they get a chance to spend a lifetime healing together.
With the help of the Fairy Got Mother Foundation, Barr and Adamczyk don’t have to worry about a thing with the foundation picking up the entire tab from gown to venue.
The couple plans to use their future life together to honor those who lost theirs.
“We are so incredibly thankful, and I think we said before that we wanted to live for those that were not able to make it out of there that’s out goal, that is still what we are trying to do every day,” said Adamczyk.
The couple’s wedding date is set for Oct. 6.
