As 2017 comes to an end, we all come together to celebrate the successes of 2017…or, the chance for a fresh start. December 31st calls for champagne, sequins, laughs, 12:00 kisses and as much fun as you can possibly conjure up. Every year people are scrambling to find the most perfect way to celebrate, and the most perfect thing to wear! Thankfully, I have a few ideas that might make both of those decisions a little easier on you this year.
This has been known to be quite the rager. Vancouver’s iconic Science World hosts over 1,000 partiers, has two rooms of music on two floors, six DJs, five bars, and live performances.
#2 JRFM Party
Our annual all-ages bash including two outdoor stages, four pop-up performance zones, food trucks and two incredible fireworks displays! Options include the free outdoor festival or the ticketed celebration zone located inside the Vancouver Convention Centre West. State-of-the-art sound, light and video systems will create an atmosphere not to be missed.
If you’re in the mood for entertainment, this is the choice for you. Rio Theatre’s Naughty Little New Year’s Eve is a night of comedy, music, magic, burlesque, hosted by Vancouver comedian Patrick Maliha.
If you’re feeling fancy, this is the option for you. Hosted by Brock House Restaurant Dive into Batman’s world at this multisensory event that transforms Brock House Restaurant into Wayne Manor, which happens to be hosting Gotham City Policemens’ Masquerade Ball. Guests are encouraged to explore every alcove and corridor of Bruce Wayne’s stately home in search of hidden scenes, live performers and clues that bring to life a shrouded history. The grand finale takes place in the ballroom where guests will dance, sip champagne and toast 2018. The ticket price includes complimentary hors d’oeuvres, sparkling wine upon arrival and at midnight, and NYE favours.
The Roxy presents Raise ‘Em Up New Year’s Eve Party featuring Blackjack Billy, at the Vogue, produced by Wet Ape. The pre-party kicks off at 8pm. Nothing says NYE like dripping in glitter. This Great Gatsby “roaring 20s” style celebration aboard the Magic Spirit Yacht is the perfect place to up your New Year’s game. The three-hour party includes dinner, dancing and themed party favors. Tickets start at $99.
Now for some outfit inspiration.
All white everything: White slip, white fur coat and white heels to blend in with the snow. I love this top and trouser look from Chrissy Tiegen as well.
Sheer comfort: Shy in a sheer top? Pair it with wide leg pants and a blazer to keep things classy – feel free to slide off the blazer for your 12:00 kiss.
Mini dress, maxi boot: I love the mini dress and over-the-knee boot trend. Zara has some great over-the-knee boots right now. Elsa Hosk Nailed this look.
Lace it up: I love mixing masculine and feminine styles. A strappy heel, little lace dress and masculine coat will make you the trendiest girl of the night. Sienna Miller makes this look effortless.
Now that you know what you’re doing, and more importantly what you’re wearing. Let’s talk free-stuff.
