WIN an Indigo Prize Pack!!! And find what to get the person that has EVERYTHING!
Missed the feature this week on JRfm? Have a listen here:
Gift giving is hard, so we’ve identified two of the hardest gift-receivers to buy for and have some great ideas about what to get them. Everyone has that one person on their list that has practically everything they need. These people have the latest clothes, jewelry, bags and home decor. They never ask for anything or give you ideas, so you are stuck thinking, what is left?! Do not worry, I have come up with some foolproof gifts that even the person that has everything will be drooling over. Our next culprit is “the hostess,” the wonderful dinner-party-throwers who won’t let you bring food and who have all the wine in the world. We have some ideas for them too, and they’re all under $100!
For the Person that has Everything
Obviously these people have a lot in there lives, so why not get them a journal so they can start their autobiography now! They can keep track of where they have been and what they have accomplished. It might even give them an excuse to take a break from their busy lives and let them do some reflecting.A gift that no one can have too much of, is cocktail and drink making accessories. This is a perfect win win gift, they get an amazing add to their bar and you get an excuse to ask them to make drinks for you everytime you come over. This set it from Crate and Barrel and will definitely not disappoint.
What’s a good gift for the person who has everything? What about a good nights sleep. I promise you Casper pillows will make even the toughest sleepers snooze through the night. Trust me my tossing-and-turning boyfriend sleeps like a log now.
Cookbooks are something you can never have too many of, we have two options here, the cookbook for the lazy cook (or the busy person in a rush) that only requires 5 ingredients per dish – Jamie Oliver’s “5 Ingredients” or for the people who are looking to spend a day in the kitchen, Jamie Oliver also has his famous “Christmas Cookbook”.
Let their photos be printed at any moment with the lifeprint mini printer. This device allows you to send a photo and have it printed on photo paper that also is a sticker. That’s not all, it gives you the option to print a video and when you download the app you scroll your camera over the photo and video begins to play. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself at Lifeprint.
Instead of getting them something tangible, give them an experience they will never forget. There’s always cooking and DIY classes, but why not try a calligraphy class. Written Word puts on monthly calligraphy classes that are fun and can also improve your card making skills. This could be a fun and different present to get for someone who already has it all.
For the hostess
Holiday Candle
An occasion themed candle is a fun way to bring the holidays into your gifting. We love this Happy Holla Days candle from Indigo (and it smells great).
Cute Coffee Table Book
I am a sucker for cute coffee table books. Have you seen the Kate spade books!? Books have the ability to change a space and create conversation. Look to Gray Malin and Kate Spade for inspiration.
Vase
You can never have enough vases! They are also very easy to find and extremely affordable. Winners and Homesense have some great options for under $15.
Fancy Olive Oil
Did you know that there is more than one flavor of olive oil?! Yes, everything from lime, smokey bacon, basil and garlic. Bring some focaccia bread and now you have a gift and appy all in one!
Cute Serving Plates
Serving trays are always a necessity in the home, so what’s more perfect than buying your hostess something they can use forever. Silver vintage serving trays are everywhere, look to the Latest Scoop this winter for the perfect plate for your host.
Reading Socks
After a long day of party-prep, your hostess deserves a little break. These reading socks are perfect for kicking back, relaxing and staying cozy.
There you have it, my gift to you is making your holiday shopping a little easier. Sometimes for the person who has everything, it’s just the thought that counts. Have fun surprising the lucky boys and gals in your life! As always, I want to gift you some of my favourite items on this list – you can call me Natalie Claus.
