And The Nominees Are…
The 2018 Grammy nominations were announced this morning and country music was shut out from the all-genre Big Four (Record, Song, Album and Best New Artist). Bummer.
Looks like the country artist will be relegated to their own award categories this year.
Leading the pack in nominations is Chris Stapleton with three. He is my pick to win Country Album of the Year with From a Room: Volume 1. He is also up for Best Country Song (“Broken Halos”) and Best Country Solo Performance (“Either Way”).
Miranda Lambert and Sam Hunt have two nominations, both in the Best Country Song and Best Country Solo Performance categories.
The rest of the Country nominations look like this:
Best Country Album
Cosmic Hallelujah, Kenny Chesney
Heart Break, Lady Antebellum
