To celebrate the arrival of summer, itโs time to get out in our city and explore! There are a few ways to experience summer in Vancouver and we have a few suggestions.
The Robson Street Business Association (RSBA) has launched Letโs Patio #onRobson today, which is a passport to lots of summer fun and rewards you wonโt want to miss!
Letโs Patio includes six participating Robson Street restaurants, including Abode, Cactus Club, CinCin, Ebisu, Earls, and Milestones. Hereโs what you need to do.
- If you visit each one this summer, bring your Robson Street passport or pick one up for each participating restaurant!
- Enjoy your favourite dishes and drinks with a min spend of $15. Thatโs easy!
- Make sure to get stamped and get rewarded. Easy right?
- Collect 6 stamps and receive a $25 gift card to the restaurant of your choice #onRobson (between Burrard and Jervis).
- Present your completed passport to the Robson Street office to redeem your gift card!
Ok now I know what youโre thinking, where do I get this said passport? Passports can be downloaded from the Robson Street website click HERE or picked up from one of the above participating restaurants. A minimum $15 purchase before taxes is required to earn each stamp. Letโs Patio #onRobson will end August 31, 2017 or while gift card supplies last.
โSummer is our favourite season on Robson Street,โ comments Teri Smith, RSBA Executive Director, โand it is best spent on a patio soaking up the sun with friends and family while enjoying great food and drinks. And with most of the participating restaurants offering Happy Hour specials, it makes it that much more enticingโ
And thatโs not all, the Robson Bute Plaza is now launched as of Canada Day, which is a great new spot to gather, lounge and relax with friends this summer.
You can find the plaza at 800 Bute Street between Robson and the laneway. If you havenโt seen it yet, this tree-lined street has been transformed into a colourful and fun plaza, complete with tables and chairs, umbrellas and a public piano. Small events and activations will also take place here throughout the summer.
Not to worry, itโs not a permanent thing, only a temporary space and will re-open to vehicle traffic on October 16, 2017. The City and the RSBA are using this three month pilot to gain insight into how people enjoy the space, what the traffic implications are and what people would like to see in the space if it were to become permanent.
Smith says that she, โis excited to have the Robson Bute Plaza and is hopeful that it will become a permanent space #onRobson. It has been positive to see so many people enjoying the plaza since it opened.โ
