Weekends Are For Grillin: The Swineapple
Swineapple…not the most appealing name, but the food sure sounds good! A pineapple stuffed with pork and thrown on the grill for a few hours? I’ll try anything once. Check out this summer’s trendiest grillin’ recipe.
From Delish:
When we heard about swineapple, we were equal parts appalled and intrigued. “Swine” isn’t usually a word thrown around when talking about delicious foods. After learning what it actually is — a whole, hollowed-out pineapple stuffed with pork (loin or ribs) and wrapped in bacon — the Delish editors were split. Some were fully on board with the crazy grilling trend, others not so much. Here’s everything you need to know about it to decide for yourself.

To clarify, all of the meat involved (loin and bacon) begins raw. It cooks in and around the pineapple. Most recipes require a grill to smoke the pineapple low and slow. It takes a few hours for the stuffed meat to cook through and for the bacon to get crispy. If grilling’s not your thing, you could also roast it in a 300°F-oven.
You can find the recipe on Pinetrest.
So who’s making Swineapple this weekend?
