RIP Chris Cornell – The Rocker Had A Country Side Too

Nobody saw this coming, and it’s brutal. Rock legend Chris Cornell (Soundgarden/Temple Of The Dog/Audioslave) reportedly committed suicide after a gig last night. He was only 52 years old.
Cornell has plenty of ties to country music. He rocked out with Jason Aldean at the CMT Awards in 2014.
He also appeared on Zac Brown Band’s last album Jekyll + Hyde, on a huge track called “Heavy Is The Head” that got some play on rock radio. If you can sleuth it on the internet, they did an amazing version of it on SNL a couple years ago.

Soundgarden also had a smash hit with Rusty Cage. Johnny Cash did his own version in 1996.
