Cow Cuddling
I had no idea cow cuddling was a thing, but apparently it is. Karen brought it to our attention and being the absolute snuggle bunny I am, I jumped at the chance (or maybe Karen just said “Graeme, you’re gonna go cuddle a cow this week,” either way works). Cow cuddling is said to offer benefits ranging from relaxation and mindfulness to confidence-building and overcoming fears. Feeling that lower heart rate and higher body temperature of a cow is said to be very relaxing. Hugs have been scientifically proven to be good for your health, so why not cow hugs? Listener Gillian and I tested it out.
Honest opinion: it was awesome!!! Full disclosure I am a huge animal lover, but I did have a little trepidation going into it. City boy soft! They do weigh over a thousand pounds sooo…I was worried about some trampling.
Cows are super chill and even going in with a bit of fear it does calm you down to snuggle these. It forces you to relax really, you can’t walk up to a big unit dairy cow putting out bad vibes. You have to relax before you get in for cuddles, but once it’s snuggle time you just melt in there. It is quite calming, pretty much like cuddling a giant dog. Well a giant dog with udders, but you get it.
100% would recommend if you get the chance.
A huge thanks to Daniel and Joel at Country Charm Farms for letting us come out for cow cuddles this morning!
